Why Ugandan vulnerable children
need us?
  • Shelter and Safety
Many children live without secure housing, leaving them exposed to abuse, neglect, and homelessness. A ministry provides safe spaces where dignity is restored.
  • Education Opportunities
Poverty prevents many children from attending school. Scholastic materials, school fees, and special needs education ensure no child is left behind.
  • Healthcare and rehabilitation
Access to medical care, therapy, and physiotherapy is limited in rural areas. Vulnerable families need support to overcome illness, disability, and trauma.
  • Community Outreach
Stigma and discrimination against children with disabilities remain widespread. Awareness campaigns and home visits fight neglect and promote inclusion.
  • Economic Empowerment
Families often lack sustainable income. Agricultural training and vocational skills help them break cycles of poverty.
  • Partnerships and sustainability
    • Collaboration with churches, NGOs, donors, and government ensures resources are mobilized for lasting impact.
Our projects

Our work is focused on giving children the facilities to improve their quality of life and opportunities for education

Secure housing
At Shalom Shelters, we are currently undertaking a major project: the construction of a residential home for the homeless in Luuka District. This initiative is designed to provide safe housing, dignity, and hope for families who have been living without shelter.
